About Dr. Rebekah C. Lloyd

Author. Speaker. Advocate. Trauma-Informed Leadership Expert.

I’m Dr. Rebekah C. Lloyd, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned—both in combat boots and in the quiet of a therapist’s chair—it’s that authentic leadership begins with healing.

From the battlefield of Afghanistan to the brokenness of abuse, addiction, and rebuilding life as a solo parent, my journey hasn’t followed a straight path. It’s been marked by resilience, shaped by trauma, and ultimately redeemed by grace. And it’s from that journey that I lead, write, teach, and serve.

From Trauma to Transformation

My story is layered—like so many others who have walked through fire and dared to rise anyway. I’ve survived a house fire as a teenager, domestic violence, sexual assault, combat deployment, divorce, and the devastating consequences of unresolved trauma. I’ve also known the redemptive power of surrendering my life to Jesus and choosing healing, one decision at a time.

In 2013, I found myself at rock bottom, waking up in a military police station after a DWI. That moment of shame and silence could’ve been the end of my story. Instead, it became a turning point. I began the long, painful, holy work of healing from the inside out.

With a doctorate in Strategic Leadership, years of military service, and training in trauma-informed practices, I’ve spent the last decade researching what it truly means to lead people, not just through strategy or success, but through empathy, emotional safety, and resilience. I call this trauma-informed leadership.

My Mission

My mission is simple but bold:

To help leaders lead with compassion, courage, and clarity, by understanding the invisible wounds people carry and cultivating spaces where healing, belonging, and growth are possible.

Whether I'm speaking at a conference, training executives, advocating for veterans and foster care children, or writing a children’s book about service dogs and superheroes in disguise, my goal is the same: to remind people that they are not too broken to lead or be led well.

I believe the workplace can be a place of healing.

I believe leadership can be redemptive.

And I believe that trauma doesn’t get the final word.

Hope does.

The Heart Behind the Brand

The “Dr. Rebekah C. Lloyd” brand isn’t about polished titles. It’s about purpose-driven influence. It’s about showing up fully human in rooms where pain is often hidden behind a façade of performance. It’s about creating tools, resources, and communities that equip leaders to do the deep work—for themselves and for those they lead.

When you partner with me—through speaking engagements, coaching, consulting, or book resources—you’re not just gaining expertise. You’re joining a movement that believes resilience is teachable, safety is non-negotiable, and redemption is always possible.

This is leadership for the real world.

Leadership for the weary.

Leadership for the brave.

Leadership for those who believe that brokenness can birth beauty.

Let’s Change the Way We Lead

If you're ready to reimagine leadership through a trauma-informed lens—where authenticity, emotional intelligence, and wholeness matter as much as strategy—you're in the right place.

Let’s lead with heart. Let’s build what lasts.

Let’s begin again, together.
